Located in the heart of England, Melton Mowbray is a small market town. The Town Street Market is one of the oldest in the UK. It is operated by the Town Estate, a charitable organisation set up more than 450 years ago by Royal Charter.

The Town is almost equal in distance from the cities of Nottingham & Leicester.

The population is about 20,000. It has one of the largest remaining town cattle markets in the country.

Melton Mowbray is famous for it's Pork Pies and Stilton Cheese. These two delicacies are made within a given distance from the town and sold all over the world.

Historic Belvoir Castle is nearby in the beautiful "Vale of Belvior"

The town boasts two Lions Clubs, The Melton Mowbray Lions Club, chartered in 1974, and The Melton Phoenix Lions Club, chartered in 1999 formed from the Melton Mowbray Lioness Club.

The Church of St Mary is the main landmark of the Town.
